Why should I get my shoes shined anyway?

Having your shoes shined not only makes them look better, it also offers a degree of protection as well. When a shoe has a proper shine the wax on it protects the leather from minor nicks, scuffs, and even serves as a minor water repellant. Furthermore, regular shoe care extends the lifetime of the shoe itself. You’d be surprised at how long a pair of quality shoes will last you with proper care. One of our greatest joys at A Step Above is maximizing the initial investment you made when you purchased your shoes by providing regular care and maintenance for them.

Do you allow shipping for your services?

Yes! We believe so strongly in having your shoes look their best that we even allow them to be shipped to us! Being based in Texas, we have had clients as far away as Colorado ship shoes to us! How long does the shine last?

This depends on how many times the shoe in question is being worn. If the shoe is only being worn for the weekly date night, the shine can easily last several weeks. If the shoe is worn more frequently and you decide to run the Boston Marathon in them, the duration of the shine will be much shorter of course! A Mirror Shine (Platinum Package) lasts longer than a High Shine (Gold Package) which respectively lasts longer than a soft shine (Silver Package.

Does A Step Above resole shoes?

No. At this time A Step Above does not offer resoling services. We recommend taking it to a local trusted cobbler before having the upper of the shoe serviced by our team.
