A Step Above had humble beginnings in 2020. We started with hand-me-down horse hair brushes, Kiwi Shoe Polish, and big dreams.

Several years later, and we are using some of the finest horse hair brushes on the market, premium Saphir waxes and cremes made in France, and able to service our clients in new and exciting ways!

Leather Shoes

Basic - $10

  • Designed for the client who wants their shoes to look nice, but isn’t overly concerned with them. One example is a hard working construction worker who wants to keep their boots conditioned, but doesn’t necessarily need them to shine. They just need their boots to stand the test of time and last another day out in the field.

  • Designed for those who want to look sharp and stay within their budget at the same time. This is by far our most popular package. This package was created so that clients could have multiple pairs of shoes shined without breaking the bank.

    The pricing of this package reflects the significant amount of time it takes to accomplish a proper mirror shine, the water and stain repellent treatment, and the conditioning of these shoes the way they deserve. Ladies Heels - $15

  • A Step Above also offers a premium service intended to meet the needs of our female clients. We understand that the only thing better than finally getting the heels you’ve always wanted is enjoying them for as long as possible! That’s exactly what you get when you take advantage of what this package has to offer. This service includes:

    • Deodorization

    • Brushing away of any surface dirt or debris with a horse hair brush

    • Secondary brushing with smaller brush for tough to reach places

    • Saphir Leather Conditioning (where applicable)

    • Saphir Crème Treatment to restore pigment and color (where applicable)

    • Saphir Wax Treatment and buff to a soft shine

Purses - $20

  • Another service we offer to our female clients is taking care of their beloved purses. We have been trusted with everything from vintage Dooney & Burke purses to new Louis Vuitton handbags. This service includes:

    • Brushing away of any surface dirt or debris with a horse hair brush

    • Secondary brushing with a smaller brush for tough to reach places

Leather Goods - $40

  • This package is best suited for medium-sized leather goods such as briefcases, duffel bags, backpacks, carry-on bags, and etc. We believe this service is crucial in keeping the aforementioned items in ideal condition so that they can last for years. This service includes:

    • Deodorizing

    • Brushing away of any surface dirt or debris with a horse hair brush

    • Saddle Soap Treatment where necessary

    • Saphir Leather Conditioning

    • Saphir Crème Treatment to restore pigment and color

    • Saphir Waterproof & Stain Repellent Treatment

Cedar Shoe Trees - $25

  • Cedarwood shoe trees protect the leather, fabric, stitching and soles of your shoes by absorbing moisture, salts and acid.

    And that is exactly what your dress shoes need after a long day of wearing them.

  • Shoe trees should be put into your shoes immediately after taking them off.

    If possible, don’t wear the same shoes two days in a row to maximize the effects of the cedarwood shoe trees, and prolong the life of the leather.

  • Ideally, you should have a pair of shoe trees for all of your leather shoes.

    This helps prevent unnecessary creasing, protects the leather, and helps the shoes keep their intended shape once your foot is no longer inside of them.
